Bhanu Choudhrie was born in June 1978 in New Delhi, India. He has built his reputation through his work as a British-Indian businessman, investor and the founder of C&C Alpha Group. Today, he serves as the organization’s executive director. Choudhrie runs investments across the globe in industries such as real estate, healthcare, agriculture, aviation, banking, utilities and hospitality.
As the founder and director of C&C Alpha Group, Choudhrie creates investment strategies for global businesses. These strategies help to incubate and drive businesses to reach their objectives. Early Life
Choudhrie was born to Sudhir and Anita Choudhrie in 1978. After growing up in India’s New Delhi, he ended up moving to the United Kingdom in 2000.
Education
As a student, Bhanu Choudhrie attended Boston University. He studied international business and marketing before continuing on to work as a director at Customers Bank within the United States. After attending Boston University, Choudhrie studied at the Owner Management Program at Harvard Business School from 2013 to 2016.
Career
After graduating from university, Choudhrie quickly developed a reputation for his work in emerging markets such as China and India. In 2001, he started C&C Alpha Group (CCAG). He has remained as the group’s executive director since that time. Through his leadership, the group has developed a large investment portfolio that includes investments in ventures like British care homes and award-winning spas.
The family-owned CCAG invests in sectors ranging from agriculture to hospitality. It runs as a holding company that caters to advising capital investors. Other family members like Choudhrie’s father, Sudhir Choudhrie, also run the consulting and investing company.
One of CCAG’s more notable ventures is found at the Nira Hotels and Resorts. This resort company is operated by Shanti Hospitality, which is a subsidiary of CCAG. The organization also runs projects like Nidra Hotels and Ananda in the Himalayas. Nira Alpina offers a luxury take on the St. Moritz experience. This award-winning resort offers chic luxury within a bohemian environment at the foot of Piz Corvatsch. Within the area, Nira Alpina is known as the only hotel that someone can ski into and out of.
Choudhrie is an active entrepreneur with several positions on boards around the world. In the United States, he presently serves as a board member of the New Century Customers Bank and Atlantic Coast Bank. Choudhrie is also on the board of Customers Bank. In addition, he was a co-founder of the company called Megalith Capital Management.
Choudhrie has consistently received awards for his contributions as an entrepreneur and a philanthropist. In 2008, the United Kingdom’s Asian Voice Political and Public Life Awards recognized Choudhrie as their entrepreneur of the year.
Personal Life
Bhanu Choudhrie is married to Simrin Choudhrie. Together, they have one son named Kabir Bhanu Wilfrid Choudhrie. Their son was born in February 2011. His wife works as an interior designer.
The couple lives together in London’s Belgravia. Their Grade II home is estimated to be worth £20 million. Back in 2015, the Choudhrie family decided to make some renovations to the stately property and received official approval from Westminster Council. The plan was to create a new, two-story basement beneath the existing six-story house and the mews house. This new space was transformed into a leisure complex with a swimming pool and a cinema.
In addition to being the son of Sudhir and Anita Choudhrie, Bhanu Choudhrie is related to B.K. Kapur. His wife served as a campaign assistant to Simon Hughes’ 2005 mayoral campaign. Later on, she took part in a bid to help Simon win London’s role as the host of the 2012 Olympics. More recently, Simrin made an appearance on the television show called “The Secret Millionaire.”
Philanthropy
Over the course of his career, Bhanu Choudhrie has taken an active role in many philanthropic organizations. In particular, he is recognized for his charitable work with Path to Success. Other than charitable works, Choudhrie is also in politics. He is a political supporter of the United Kingdom’s Liberal Democrats. In the 2010 general elections, he also made contributions to the Liberal Democrats.
In 2010, Commonwealth Games England released an announcement that Choudhrie would be the chair of their business advisory board. Choudhrie’s role was to help the organization prepare for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
