As Alex Pissios plans his mega exit from the industry, movie production and Chicago TV are about to experience major changes. The exit comes after the acquisition of Cinespace Studios (both Toronto and Chicago campuses) by TPG Real Estate Partners, making it the second topmost independent sound stage firm in North America.
According to the acquisition terms, Alex Pissios and the other co-founders will no longer actively take part in the management of the franchise. TPG will come with its internal team to take over their new Chicago company, which they aim to expand to more than the 55 active soundstages in operation in the two campuses.
As Alex Pissios awaits his exit from the industry, he is expected to stay longer for about six to twelve months. During this period, he will ensure a smooth transition of power and leadership to the TPG team before retiring and moving to other endeavors.
